Lynn Swan, M.D. is a family physician and a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School and the University of Michigan Family Practice residency.  She is a former chief resident and served as an assistant professor in the U of M Department of Family Medicine for 7 years.  Dr. Swan currently is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Michigan State University, teaching in the Munson Family Practice Residency.  She is the  former Medical Director for the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians Medicine Lodge.  She trained as a  medical consultant at the Pope Paul VI Institute in Omaha, Nebraska utilizing the Creighton Model Fertility Care System for natural family planning and using NaProTechnology for infertility, repeated miscarriages,and premenstrual syndrome.

Dr. Swan is committed to treating the needs of the whole person to the very best of her ability.  Dr. Swan believes in the Hippocratic Oath, in promoting health and wellness, and in upholding the dignity of the individual from conception until natural death.  She invites the patient to become an active participant and decision maker in their healthcare.  She firmly believes in the tenants of Family Medicine - continuity of care over time, treating the whole patient, understanding the family life cycle and its particular stressors, and treating patients across the lifespan - from birth to death.

Dr. Swan has a heart for service and will do home visits if necessary. She sees patients in some of the assisted care homes where transportation can be an issue.  While Dr. Swan no longer practices obstetrics or admits to the hospital,  she will often see her patients in the hospital to act as an advocate during their stay.

Dr. Swan and her husband, Dr. David Swan, a dentist, reside in Acme with their four children.
